Your privacy is important. Our privacy policy tells you how Visa Purchase Alerts collects, protects, uses and shares your personal information when you use our service.

This privacy policy only applies to Visa Purchase Alerts, which is currently offered exclusively to eligible cardholders in the United States.

Information we collect
We may collect Personal Information (information that can be used to identify you) and non-Personal Information when you use Visa Purchase Alerts. The information we collect may include information that you provide to us directly, information about your browser or device, and information from other sources.
Information you provide to us directly may include:

- Payment card information (including you card number, expiration data, security code and billing address)
When you use the Visa Purchase Alerts website, we may collect information about your browser and/or device (including information obtained through the use of cookies and similar tracking technologies, described below) such as:
- How you use the Visa Purchase Alerts services and website—for example, what pages you visit, how frequently you use Visa Purchase Alerts, and how many and what types of cards you have enrolled in Visa Purchase Alerts.
- IP address, the type and version of the browser and operating system you use, and information about the device(s) you use to access Visa Purchase Alerts, including device identifiers where permitted and use of multiple devices by the same account.
- Biometric data that we collect by analyzing the keystroke, mouse, and touch screen cadence of end users (“Cadence Data”). This information is not considered Personal Information. We collect Cadence Data only when a user is interacting with the Purchase Alerts website, and we use Cadence Data only to safeguard security, prevent fraud and enforce our policies, as described below.
Visa Purchase Alerts may get information about you from other sources. For example:
- We may get information from the issuer of your payment card to the extent your issuer is permitted to share it with Visa.
- We may get information from other Visa services you use if we are authorized to do so.
We may collect or compile aggregated and de-identified information about Visa Purchase Alerts users such as enrollment numbers and demographic group information. How we share information
We may share your Personal Information:
- Among Visa affiliates to develop, operate and improve products and services, to facilitate customer service, to comply with legal obligations, and for other uses described in this privacy policy.
- With service providers that help us to operate our business. We require that they protect your Personal Information and only use it for specified purposes. We do not share your Personal Information with any service provider that collects Cadence Data on our behalf. Such service provider(s) use the Cadence Data to provide one or more fraud scores associated with an identifier uniquely identifying your device.
- To a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, services, division, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).
- As we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our Terms and Conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or those of our affiliates, you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
- In other ways, with your consent.

How we protect your Personal Information
Visa maintains physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect Personal Information, including firewalls and encryption to help protect the Personal Information we collect from you when it is being communicated to us.
Cross-border transfer of your Personal Information
Visa is a global payment network with affiliates and service providers located outside of your country of residence. As a result, Visa may instruct affiliates and/or service providers located in other countries to process any Personal Information collected by Visa Purchase Alerts at any time after it is collected. Please note that these countries may have different laws and requirements about privacy and data use than where you live. Any Personal Information that is transferred outside of your country of residence by Visa or its affiliates or service providers will be stored, used, shared and retained by the recipient in accordance with this privacy policy.
How long we retain your Personal Information
We will retain your Personal Information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
How you can access and edit your Personal Information
If you use Visa Purchase Alerts, you can review and edit Personal Information at any time by logging in to your account. To request access, or make corrections, to any of your Personal Information not available through an account, please contact us using our contact details provided below. Where lawful, we may charge you a reasonable fee for access. If you can show that Personal Information we hold about you (if any) is not accurate, complete and up to date, we must take reasonable steps to ensure that it is accurate, complete and up to date.
Your choices
You can adjust your alerts or discontinue Visa Purchase Alerts using our website. Even if you stop using Visa Purchase Alerts, we still may retain and use your Personal Information to comply with law, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and take other actions as permitted by law. We will cease to retain Personal Information, or de-identify it, as required by applicable law.
SMS Messages
If you no longer want to receive SMS text alerts from Visa, either text “STOP” to the Visa Purchase Alert service’s short code (currently 90934) or to any text message you receive from Visa Purchase Alerts, or change your account preferences using the Visa Purchase Alerts website. Text “HELP” for help. Message and data rates may apply. The number of text messages received from Visa Purchase Alerts will depend on several factors, including the triggers selected and the number of transactions that match such triggers.
Use by minors
The Visa Purchase Alerts service is not directed to individuals under the legal age of majority in their state of residence (and at least 18 years of age), and we request that these individuals do not provide Personal Information to Visa Purchase Alerts.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may change this privacy policy at any time by posting an updated privacy policy to the Visa Purchase Alerts website. Please regularly review the privacy policy for updates.
